Paloma Checa-Gismero is a historian of global contemporary art. She is an assistant professor of art history at Swarthmore College and author of Biennial Boom: Making Contemporary Art Global (Duke University Press, 2024).
An experienced educator, curriculum developer, and curator of public programs, she has written extensively about art biennials, craft, and socially engaged art. She is available for media and academic requests.
She lives in Philadelphia.
